Watch some of our rescued turkeys enjoy being the guests on honor at our annual feast for human and feathered friends!

In the meat industry, turkeys are seen only as “food,” rather than as the individuals they are. This was once the case for Madeline — but in her new life at Farm Sanctuary, she’s making up for lost time by showing everyone she meets what a unique and special girl she is!

Like some of her fellow turkey residents, Madeline came to us by way of a good Samaritan. While we don’t know her exact origins, her breed and the fact that she’s been debeaked strongly indicate that she started life on a factory farm.

Now safe at Farm Sanctuary, Madeline is free to enjoy the happy, carefree life she deserved all along. This sweet girl loves nothing more than to sit in our laps and enjoy all the attention bestowed on her!

This Thanksgiving, we’re thankful for Madeline — an incredible ambassador for turkeys everywhere. By choosing compassion, we can help more of these wonderful birds find their own happy endings

With your support, we can make a difference for turkeys and all farm animals. By sponsoring a turkey this holiday season, you help us provide the care our rescued residents need to thrive, and allow us to extend our lifesaving rescue, education, and advocacy work to help even more individuals in need. Thank you for supporting Farm Sanctuary as we create a more compassionate world for all!

Check out the live feed from the turkey barn at Farm Sanctuary! It is a cozy spot for rescued turkeys (and the occasional chicken or two). Learn more on Explore.org @ https://goo.gl/jfReQM.

Since 1986, Farm Sanctuary’s Adopt a Turkey Project has encouraged people to save a turkey during the holiday season through sponsorships that help us rescue animals and provide care for them at our sanctuaries, as well as educate and advocate for turkeys and other farm animals everywhere.

For a one-time donation gift of just $35, anyone can sponsor a turkey. As a turkey sponsor, you will receive a special Adopt a Turkey certificate with a color photo of and fun details about your new friend.

Turkey sponsorships also make perfect gifts, so make an even greater impact this holiday season by sharing the love with others.

Great Way to Give Thanks

I adopted Madeline this year. I am very happy that she was rescued from a factory farm & feel that adopting a turkey is a much better way to celebrate Thanksgiving than to purchase a turkey who has been slaughtered & most likely lived a miserable life.
