Farm Sanctuary is a special place that brings us all together; just ask Chandini, Milbank, Lawrence, Arnold, and Tweed. While life started out rough for these five, their mutual love and support now helps them thrive. Lawrence was a downed calf at a stockyard; Milbank, Arnold, and Tweed likewise escaped death after the farm where their owner planned to kill them when they became ill; and little Chandini, rescued from a live market, joined the herd a few years later. These days, their lives are filled with the companionship and serenity all beings deserve. Let’s take a step in the right direction and follow their lead in supporting a compassionate world for all!
This fine art canvas print is a representation of Chandini, Millbank, Lawrence, Arnold, and Tweed painted by Jennifer Smith Donaldson, who has been painting for more than 20 years. She is a graduate of Rosemont College, where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a concentration in painting and illustration. Jennifer focuses on oil paintings of landscapes, buildings and seascapes, as well as equestrian and farm animal paintings and portraits. She finds inspiration outdoors in the things and places she loves.
Special thanks to Chriss Montalbano, a trained chef who has been plant-based and a devoted animal activist for 17 years, for commissioning this beautiful painting and her generous support of Farm Sanctuary making this fine art canvas print possible. Chriss commissioned this painting to bring the joy and beauty of happy cows at sanctuary to her home and others. She wanted her home to feel like a sanctuary that celebrates nature and the happy lives of animals. Inspired by her visit to Farm Sanctuary in Watkins Glen, NY in the summer of 2016, Chriss reached out to artist Jennifer Donaldson with the idea for a painting of the sanctuary cows, Chandini , Millbank, Lawrence, Arnold, and Tweed, who have been lucky enough to create a herd family in a safe and happy place.
