Farm Sanctuary is a place of healing, love, and happiness for both our animal
residents and our human guests. With this canvas featuring a representation of
Jay, you can bring the Farm back home with you!
In 2010, a transport truck bound
for a slaughterhouse crashed into another vehicle on an Indiana interstate and
burst into flames, killing 18 out of the 34 cattle it was carrying. Most of the
survivors were collected and placed on another truck bound for slaughter, but
Jay, a 2-year-old Holstein bull, was determined to survive. Despite being
covered in excruciatingly painful burns, he escaped and set authorities on a
12-hour chase before finally being captured and taken to a local animal shelter.
After local citizens pleaded that his life be spared, he was relinquished to
Farm Sanctuary and sent to Cornell to recover from his burns. Jay endured a long
recovery but is strong and healthy today, and loves interacting with the main
cattle herd at our New York shelter.
This fine art canvas print is a

she loves.
